Gender and help-seeking behavior for mental health: Are female college students more likely to seek help in regards to mental health services when compared to their male counterparts?

On a global scale, the level of unaddressed or not diagnosed mental health conditions continues to be high. Mental illnesses play a significant role to the Global Burden of Disease, as four out of the ten diseases with the highest burden are psychiatric. My Research paper summarizes a study conducted on FIU college students to reveal the factors that affect help-seeking among females, and males in regards to mental health services. This research also studies why college students, and predominantly males do not seek for help when they are going through psychological distress.
